First, let's start out, if you're buying a house, get a home inspection before closing! Put that contingency in the offer and hold your ground. We hear the nightmares after the fact for those that signed off on a home inspection. Very sad. Buyers protection is not a priority. Pets, are near and dear to our hearts. So many of us view them as a family member, probably a very loved, spoiled family member! Rightfully so! They are as good for us as we should be for them. Mostly their life is simple, needs; shelter, food, love, to be properly cared for, vet visits to maintain their health. BUT, there is a major problem going on that maybe you're not aware of. Strays and dumped animals to fend for themselves in strange, unfamiliar areas with no food, no water, no anything. It's awful how some people are dumping animals, in bags or boxes alongside a busy roadway. Yes, that happens, too often. It sure makes sense to have insulation with our winters, doesn't it? Do you have an older house? There's a good chance the insulation isn't working the way it should. It may have gotten wet or absorbed moisture, causing it to "shrink" or become saturated with water, making it much less effective.

You can give Coler Insulation a call at 585-217-9069 and have all that old insulation removed and replaced with spray foam insulation. Spray foam is much more efficient, and because it's sprayed in, it fills cracks and crevices, preventing wind from seeping through.

It also doesn't need to be 3 or 4 inches thick. It goes on thin and then expands, providing much better insulation coverage.

Some of the prime locations to check are the attic and band joist areas. Many times, people complain that they feel a draft, but it could be coming from an unsealed band joist area. Once it's properly sealed, wow—the difference can be instant!

Rotary Club’s Next Drive-thru Food Drive is OCTOBER 3

The Rotary Club of Pittsford’s next monthly drive-thru food drive is scheduled Saturday (October. 3) from 9 am to noon at the Pittsford Sutherland High School bus loop. Rotarians and Interact Club members will be collecting at the drive rain or shine.

Donations will support the Pittsford Food Cupboard and the Nazareth University Oak Tree Food Pantry.

The Pittsford Food Cupboard plays a crucial role in addressing food insecurity within our community. Donations help ensure that local families have access to essential food items and will promote well-being and stability. See the cupboard’s list of current needs.

The Oak Tree Pantry serves those with food insecurity in the Nazareth community. The pantry has an ongoing need for granola bars, pasta, peanut butter, soap and other hygiene products.

The drive also will collect donations of gently used, current magazines for distribution to area human service organizations. The club conducts the drives the first Saturday of the month all year with an occasional change of date to avoid holiday and event conflicts.
