Pittsford Rotary Food Drive December 7, 2024 Saturday
Rotary Club’s Next Drive-thru Food Drive is Dec. 7
The Rotary Club of Pittsford’s next drive-thru food drive is scheduled Saturday (Dec. 7) from 9 am to noon at the Pittsford Sutherland High School bus loop. In addition to the Pittsford Food Cupboard, donations also will support Mothers in Need of Others and the Nazareth University Oak Tree Food Pantry.
In addition, Rotarians and Interact Club members will be accepting new hats, gloves, underwear, socks and other warm clothing for the Veterans Outreach Center to help veterans and their families in need stay warm in the upcoming cold-weather months.
“This is our last drive before the holidays and we want to help make the season a little happier for area veterans and their families,” said Kelly Cline, President of Pittsford Rotary. “We hope the Pittsford community agrees and helps by adding these donations to their food offerings.”
Founded locally in 1973 by returning Vietnam Veterans, today’s Veterans Outreach Center remains anchored in our community and offers a comprehensive portfolio of supportive services designed to meet the needs of veterans and their families.
The Pittsford Food Cupboard plays a crucial role in addressing food insecurity within our community. Donations help ensure that local families have access to essential food items and will promote well-being and stability. See the cupboard’s list of current needs.
Mothers in Need of Others is a short-term emergency assistance program providing basic necessities to families in crisis.
The Oak Tree Pantry serves those with food insecurity in the Nazareth community. The pantry has an ongoing need for granola bars, pasta, peanut butter, soap and other hygiene products.
The drive also will collect donations of gently used, current magazines for distribution to area human service organizations.
