Jim Salmon Home Inspectors has received many calls from new home buyers that are now living in the house they bought without getting a home inspection. Even though Christmas is over when a family member or friend buys a house, you wonder what would be a good 'house-warming' gift-that they will actually use!

Some things they might not have considered;

smoke alarm & CO detector, even if the house has one, can always use more or replace the existing one. 

hammers -  couple different ones, claw, ball-peen, tack, rubber mallet, for example. 

an assortment of nails, tacks, hooks and wire for hanging pictures 

drill - electric &/or battery with bits

screwdrivers, preferably a phillips head and flat head - different sizes

tool box
